Last night's -25 degC did it! Loon Lake completely froze with no spots left open. The photo looking toward the highway shows the final stage of freezing as well as the tracks from the first wolf/coyote out on the ice. It's far easier now for the wolves/coyotes to walk on the ice than to try to go through the deep snow on shore. The other picture shows the ice crystals that traditionally form on the surface when you get a quick solid freeze-up.
