This little gathering of fish huts is like a small community. There are two other permanent huts at other locations. and during the past week, there were three portable fish huts on the lake - two were from town and one was a fisherman that is visiting a whole series of lakes in the area.
While there hasn't been a lot of fish action lately on the lake, there was a different form of action in the form of an MNR Enforcement Officer who visited the lake last Saturday evening at about 6:00 pm on his snowmobile.
All the huts were visited and fishers were checked for having their licences on them and their huts were checked for having the required licences posted. The number of lines down per fisher was also checked and the officer checked the fishers to make sure they had up-to-date snowmobile registration, proper insurance, and had plated the vehicles.
While I didn't hear of many problems , it goes to say that it makes sense to have all the necessary paperwork and insurance in place.
And then fish !
