Storm Central !

As I write this, we're in what is perhaps the worst snow storm in the last decade! The storm hit this area after 3:30AM this morning and has dumped anywhere between 6 and 10 inches of snow so far. And with high winds and a lot of drifting! We wondered just how bad it would be after watching the News and Weather Forecasts last night. Well - they forecast fairly accurately for this area.

The power has been stable with no brown-outs and only the satellite TV is occasionally affected. And that's when it's time for a good book.

It's at times like this when I'm glad I have a large and reliable road building company who has many years experience in plowing cottage country roads, as my snow plower . This one has back up snowplow trucks and heavy equipment such as plow equipped skid-steers and large excavators that can be brought in when needed. And all vehicles are wireless equipped so that additional resources can be summoned to help clear the road soon after a storm! All of this is very necessary when living year 'round on Loon Lake.
