Things Happen in the Night!

Bull_Moose Ice 006

This sleigh is what we tow behind a snowmobile during the winter when we go ice fishing. It carries the ice auger, bait, tackle and other supplies. It weighs close to one hundred pounds and we store it upright leaning against the woodshed. This picture shows how it ended up after it was knocked over during the night by a big bull moose. When the sleigh went over, it hit a 8x8 beam stored beside it that in turn hit wood stacked behind the woodshed, knocking it all to the ground. Quite a chain reaction! The moose had tracks that went over six inches heel to toe and it spent considerable time wandering about our property. When walking in a straight line, the hoof prints were just over five feet apart. A really big moose! I can’t think of any reason why the moose would deliberately knock over the sleigh and I think it just bumped into it. We didn’t get a chance to see the moose,  but he sure left his mark !
