Our Low Water Level Explained

If you look closely at this water level graph from the Trent Severn Waterway (TSW), you will see that we have now exceeded the historical low water level. To-day, we went to the TSW office at Paradise Lake to try to find out what was happening to make Loon Lake's water level so low.

We were told that the TSW has done nothing different in water management activities; that the winter log set has been in for a long time; that they were not changing source locations; that there was still a trickle of water over the top log; and that there were no water drawing experiments under way.

They attribute the low water condition to the fact that there just hasn't been the rainfall for the reservoir lakes because the summer and the fall have been very dry.
